White supremacy, and the system that upholds it continues to kill Black people.
We stand with everyone who is frustrated, sad, and outraged by the unjust murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, and so many more victims of police violence, and the disproportionate loss of life in the Black community due to COVID-19.
August is taking action in solidarity with the Black leaders and activists who are working tirelessly for change in our cities and around the world.
There are many worthwhile organizations to support at this time. We have chosen to make corporate donations to these three organizations, whose work feels especially urgent right now:
August remains committed to the work of anti-racism. Today’s actions are a small start. For those of us who benefit from our own whiteness and white privilege, we have the most work to do.
Our work is ongoing. We are committed to being part of the solution.
We encourage all members of our network and professional community to join us in making financial commitments and to support the organizers who are leading the effort. We also encourage you to fight racism in the workplace through self-education, constructive conversation, and dismantling organizational structures and policies that advantage some over others.
Here are four leaders you can follow for more guidance on how to support and be engaged:
